Jallianwala Bagh Day is observed every year on 13th of April amidst prayer meetings. It was on this day on April 13, 1919, when troops of the British Indian Army under the command of Colonel Reginald Dyer fired indiscriminately into a crowd of Indians gathered for a peaceful protest to condemn the arrest and deportation of two national leaders, Satya Pal, and Saifuddin Kitchlew. The Jallianwala Bagh day reminds us of the brutal atrocities of the British Rulers. The British government must have apologized for this inhumane act but the the British Prime Minister British Theresa May on 10th April 2019 expressed deep regret for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, calling it “a shameful scar on British Indian history”.
